The Ipcress File
I have just watched The Ipcress File, the classic 1960s British spy movie. Michael Caine plays Harry Palmer a low level spy who does not have anything like the presence of James Bond and for that comes across as a more believable character. As with any of these films, in my opinion, they do not really show the mundane life of a spook.
Today in the midst of the ‘War on Terror’ there must be many many low level operatives chasing about following non-entities and perfeclty innocent bystanders.
I read yesterday that this ‘War on Terror’ will continue for another 30 years. How can anyone be expected to believe this?
Surely after 30 years one side or the other will have succeeded?
